Youth Curling
 

The Minden Curling Club is pleased to offer a comprehensive program for curlers ages eight to seventeen!

We emphasize developing the proper technique, game knowledge and of course, having fun!

What to Wear

Wear clothing that is warm but that you can freely move in. No jeans or similar tight fitting pants – you’ll need to be flexible. 

We also ask that each curler come with a clean pair of indoor shoes.  Outdoor shoes will not be permitted on the ice. 

Other equipment such as brooms, sliders and grippers are provided by the club. Players are welcome to bring their own curling equipment.

Helmets

All participants under the age of 12 are required to wear a properly fitted and secured (as per the direction of the manufacturer) helmet certified by the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) in the curling rink. Curling, skating, hockey, snowboarding, skiing or other CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved helmets are all acceptable options. Other forms of headgear are not sufficient.

Rowan’s Law – Concussion Awareness

The Rowan’s law was enacted on July 1, 2019, and concerns concussions. Everyone who participates in curling or any sport who is 26 or under must read the information presented and sign a confirmation to that effect. This confirmation will be kept on file and this procedure followed every year. There are three booklets of information.
